Orange Creamsicle Freezer Pie
A light, dreamy dessert bursting with sweet orange flavor and creamy vanilla layers, all nestled in a buttery graham cracker crust—tastes just like the classic frozen treat.
Ingredients
Crust:
1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
⅓ cup granulated sugar
6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Filling:
1 box (3 oz) orange gelatin
½ cup boiling water
½ cup cold water
1 cup orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest (optional, for extra flavor)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
Instructions
Make the Crust:
In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Chill in the fridge while making the filling.
Prepare the Orange Layer:
In a medium bowl, dissolve orange gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water and orange juice. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until slightly thickened but not fully set.
Make the Cream Layer:
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until combined.
Assemble the Pie:
Pour half of the cream mixture into the prepared crust. Gently spoon the thickened gelatin mixture over it. Top with the remaining cream mixture, spreading evenly.
Freeze:
Cover with plastic wrap or foil and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
Serve:
Let the pie sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with extra whipped topping and orange zest if desired.
Tip: For a more intense creamsicle flavor, mix a teaspoon of orange extract into the cream layer.
