Oat and Chia Bread 🍞🌱

A wholesome and hearty bread packed with fiber-rich oats and nutrient-dense chia seeds! Perfect for breakfast, sandwiches, or toasting with your favorite spread. This easy homemade bread is soft, slightly nutty, and full of goodness!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, mix warm water and honey (or maple syrup). Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, rolled oats, chia seeds, and salt.

Form the Dough:
Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Shape and Bake:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Let it rise for another 30 minutes. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.

Cool and Serve:
Let the bread cool completely before slicing. Enjoy it toasted with butter, jam, or avocado for a delicious and nutritious treat!
