
Chinese Chicken Cabbage Stir-Fry
Ingredients
1 lb boneless chicken breast, sliced into thin strips
1 small Chinese cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Aromatics
Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 3: Cook the Chicken
Add the chicken strips to the wok and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
Step 4: Add the Cabbage
Toss in the chopped Chinese cabbage and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, until the cabbage is wilted but still slightly crisp.
Step 5: Add the Sauce
Pour the sauce mixture into the wok and stir well. Cook for about 1 minute, or until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and cabbage evenly.
Step 6: Season and Serve
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
